Shape of the State-Prorupted
India is an example of a prorupted state. A prorupted state is a compact state with a large projecting extension. The projections are created for 2 reasons which are either for access to resources or to separate two countries that would otherwise have a boundary. India is prorupted because it has a large projecting piece which is around Bangladesh. In this case, India's extension is used to separate Bangladesh from other countries it would otherwise share a boundary with such as Nepal and and Bhutan.
This type of shape affects relations in the state because the people who live in the prorupted part of the state are far away from the rest of the country. Therefore, communications to them can be difficult. Information may reach them later than in the rest of the country which causes problems.
